In this client‑facing role you will lead the delivery of protection and control projects, ensuring output meets client expectations. You will produce design drawings, detailed schematics, and calculations, as well as interface auxiliary systems with protection equipment. You will also support tendering activities with preliminary documentation, BOQs and effort estimates, and may perform fault‑current studies and IED configuration.
- Produce FEED design drawings such as Protection Single Line Diagrams, Key Line Diagrams, work specifications, and auxiliary system assessments.
- Deliver detailed design documents including circuit, wiring, cable schedules, cable block, general arrangement, and termination diagrams.
- Interface substation auxiliary systems with protection and control equipment.
- Perform design calculations for LVAC/DC sizing, CT/VT adequacy, and cable sizing.
- Support tendering with preliminary design, bill of quantities, and engineering man‑hour estimates.
- Conduct fault‑current calculations, relay settings, and IED configuration as required.
- Hands‑on design of protection for busbars, feeders, transformers and reactors.

We are looking for candidates with a graduate or postgraduate degree in Electrical Engineering and 6‑8+ years of protection‑system design experience on 132 kV and higher networks. Required expertise includes busbar, feeder, transformer and reactor protection, transformer‑ratio principles, auto‑reclose and switching arrangements, and the ability to create comprehensive design deliverables and documentation. Membership of the IET and progress toward Chartered Engineer status, strong English communication, and proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD 2D and preferably Trimble, ETAP or PSCAD are essential.
- Electrical Engineering graduate or postgraduate with 6‑8+ years’ protection & control design experience on ≥132 kV systems.
- Knowledge of CT/VT principles, auto‑reclose, circuit‑breaker fail and plant auto‑switching schemes.
- Ability to produce comprehensive design deliverables and documentation (SLD/KLD, reports, specifications).
- IET membership and progress toward Chartered Engineer status.
- Strong English communication and ability to coordinate across multiple locations.
- Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD 2D; desirable experience with Trimble (Amtech), ETAP or PSCAD.
