The foreman ensures safe execution of new construction, maintenance, and repair tasks on both energized and de‑energized underground work, leads and coaches crew members, conducts pre‑job briefings, and coordinates inspections.
- Perform new construction, maintenance, and repair of energized and de‑energized underground distribution systems safely.
- Lead, coach, and train crew members, conducting pre‑job and tailgate briefings.
- Troubleshoot underground circuits and identify primary, secondary, and induced voltages.
- Install, terminate, and test underground cables, duct banks, and line protection devices.
- Operate and maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment, ensuring proper PPE use.
- Complete required paperwork and adhere to company reporting procedures.
- Conduct inspections and coordinate crew work, following flag/tag and grounding protocols.
- Plan and execute work based on job prints, work orders, and sloping/shoring requirements.
- Obtain one‑shot reclosure measurements and perform soil classification testing.
- Request and obtain line clearances, and safely phase out lines using phasing sticks.
- Travel long distances on short notice and be available for overtime, weekends, and holidays.
