- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to embed AI/ML and Data Science driven solutions into project workflows.
- Ensure adherence to our Global Automation, AI/ML governance guidelines.
- Ensure delivering Margin enhancement across Teams, Disciplines, Projects along with GD’s/PD’s/PL’s/JL’s.
- Line managing, nurturing, and developing a high-performing team

- Conduct training, demos, and workshops to build AI/ML capabilities across teams.
- Ensure mass adoption of Automation across Teams and Projects.
- Guide, mentor, and oversee a team of Project Automation Leads.
- Contribute to the digital road mapping and innovation strategy for India region.
- Develop and deploy machine learning models for applications such as predictive analysis, energy optimization, and project data management.

- Leading the Automation in the region to stay ahead of market competition by identifying and incorporating cutting-edge technologies and approaches.
- Evaluate emerging tools and lead their integration into existing systems.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project efficiencies.
- Provide training on all the automation tools selected for the region by the BU Discipline Leads.
- Cultivate a collaborative team culture uniting the region.
- Develop Cloud based applications including LLM/GenAI and deploy them on projects.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of automation tools and report it to the Regional Automation Lead.
- Advise the PP’s, PD’s & PL’s as required and requested.
- Analyze structured and unstructured data from BIM, spread sheets and other project design and management systems.
- Identify opportunities for project automation improvements and implement best practices.
- Coordinate and report on the adoption of Automation in your region to Regional Automation Lead.
- Maintain regional Technology KO templates, guidance, tool settings, training videos and region-relevant automation workflow library.
- Provide comprehensive technical advice to Project Automation Leads, Engineers and tool users.
- Hold regular team meetings and assess teams’ requirements.
- Create intuitive dashboards and data visualizations to support strategic decisions.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities in design, documentation, and construction processes.
- Stay updated on global trends in AI/ML, and Automation relevant to the built environment.
- Develop briefs and automation project plans, incorporating operational insights.
- Drive the growth of automation adoption on projects leveraging Buro Happold’s Computational Engineering strengths and BIM knowledge.
- Working closely with Regional Automation Lead and within our global automation strategy, develop the region’s Automation strategy to advance Buro Happold’s workflow automation adoption over the next five years, including automation policy compliance, project adoption targets and reporting.

- Holds relevant industry qualifications and memberships.
- Ability to understand business & domain requirements.
- Hands on experience of working with LLM (Large Language Models).
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Knowledge of scripting for Automation preferred (e.g., Dynamo, Grasshopper, Forge API).
- Familiarity with engineering data (structural, environmental, geospatial, BIM data) is a strong plus.
- Proactive, confident, persuasive, progressive and forward looking.
- Certifications in AI/ML preferred.
- Experience in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- 8+ years of experience in AI/ML, Data Analytics and/or Automation (ideally within the AEC sector).
- Familiarity with construction tech platforms (e.g., Procore, BIM 360).
- Strong problem solving, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Machine Learning and Deep Learning Algorithms.
- Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with Data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Team player with leadership capabilities.
