Field Survey Technicians (Party Chief / Instrument Operator)

Description

• Lead field survey activities, understand and execute scope of work.
• Provide direction and oversight to the instrument operator.
• Ensure proper field techniques, quality checks, and safety measures.
• Debrief senior office staff after assignment completion.
• Conduct field reconnaissance of property evidence.
• Assist Party Chief with survey field activities.
• Operate total station and GNSS equipment and perform equipment collimation and maintenance.
• Work collaboratively in a team and follow Party Chief direction.
• Support quality checks and job safety procedures.

Requirements

• Operate total stations and GNSS equipment proficiently.
• Party Chief: 5+ years land surveying experience; Instrument Operator: 3+ years land surveying experience.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Land Surveying (preferred).
• Experience with NYSDOT procedures, Trimble robotics, Leica GNSS, terrestrial LiDAR, and sUAS (preferred).
• Ability to perform physical work, including walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lb.
