Control Engineer

Description

• Design, program, commission, and maintain PLC/HMI/automation systems — working with Allen‑Bradley / Rockwell Automation platforms.
• Read, interpret, and create Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), wiring diagrams, logic diagrams, control‑panel layouts, and control system documentation.
• Specify, integrate, and troubleshoot field instrumentation and process hardware: control valves, pressure sensors and transmitters, flow/level sensors — including calibration, testing, and field device setup.
• Collaborate with mechanical/electrical/instrumentation teams to integrate controls with hardware; ensure safe, reliable system operation; assist with startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting of processes and instrumentation.

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced Controls Engineer to design, implement, commission, and maintain control and automation systems for industrial or instrumentation applications — including PLCs/HMIs, field devices, and process control hardware.

• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical/control schematics, wiring diagrams, loop sheets and related documentation.
• Active DOE/NRC Q Clearance or DOD TS/SCI Clearance
• Experience working with field devices and process control hardware: control valves, pressure, flow or level sensors, drives/VFDs, and other instrumentation.
• B.S. (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Controls / Automation, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and with field teams.
• United States Citizenship
• Several years (e.g., 3–7+) of hands‑on experience programming PLC/HMI (especially Allen‑Bradley / Rockwell Automation), commissioning control systems, and integrating field instrumentation.
