Administer in-person training in addition to existing online training.
Improve training for existing employees and new employees.
Manage interactions with regulating agencies, including County HAZMAT, Fire Department, and CAL OSHA.
Conduct internal inspections to ensure readiness for agency inspections. Incident Response: Respond to incidents
Understanding of chemicals, spill response, and chemical and biological waste management.
Vivarium experience.
Knowledge of San Diego County HAZMAT and CERS.
Biotech experience.
Significant experience with hazardous, biological, and chemical waste management.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or related field.
Potential involvement with storm water compliance in the future.
GMP experience.
Strong communication skills to work with all departments from research through manufacturing.

This role will support hazardous and biological waste management, chemical management, and chemical waste management activities. The position requires strong knowledge of San Diego County HAZMAT and CERS (online portal for County Hazmat), as well as experience with chemicals, spill response, and chemical and biological waste management. The role will also support training improvements, compliance, reporting, inspections, and incident response activities.
