Under general direction, the HVAC Foreman performs preventive maintenance, repairs, installations, and replacements of HVAC mechanical equipment and building control systems. The role also includes assisting branch leadership by coaching and mentoring technicians to ensure customer satisfaction and adherence to operational processes.
Customer interaction is a key responsibility: the Foreman communicates with customers upon arrival and departure, keeps them informed about service, and recommends system enhancements, upgrades, or repairs. They also ensure thorough project and service documentation, prepare quotes and estimates, and manage material needs for service delivery.
The Foreman adheres to Johnson Controls and customer safety standards, provides safety leadership and instruction to both technicians and subcontractors, and serves as an escalation point for complex technical issues. They are recognized as a leader and mentor within the branch, offering on‑the‑job training and expert solutions for challenging system problems.
The position requires proven leadership experience, the ability to act independently, and the skill to coordinate the work of other employees and contractors on customer sites. Effective interpersonal skills are essential for representing the company to customers and explaining technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
Compensation includes a base hourly rate of $69.08 plus $2.50 per hour for TTL, with benefits provided through a local labor union under a collective bargaining agreement.
