The Leadman provides leadership, instruction, and guidance to other craft workers in the work crew, assisting the Foreman while performing duties as a journeyman.
The role involves laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining piping systems, pipe supports, fixtures, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and production and processing systems.
A high school diploma or equivalent and several years of relevant experience are required; the candidate must have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures, rely on instructions and pre‑established guidelines, and work under immediate supervision without exercising independent judgment, typically reporting to a supervisor or manager.
Physical requirements include strength tasks such as standing, walking, lifting and carrying up to 50 lb, and pushing or pulling 70 ft‑lb, as well as activities like climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, and fingering, with frequency indicated by symbols.
