Asset Supervisor

Description

As part of our small but dynamic team, you will play a crucial role in managing Cornwall’s highway network. Using asset management principles, you will commission and oversee both maintenance and improvement works, ensuring our roads are safe, efficient, and well-maintained. You will manage data using Pavement and Routine Maintenance Management Systems to identify areas of work and build annual programmes within available budgets.

Using asset management principles, the post holder will manage data using Pavement and Routine Maintenance Management Systems to identify areas of work from condition surveys and defect information.

• Liaise with network staff and service providers to plan and programme maintenance works effectively.
• Develop and coordinate annual work programmes in alignment with budget constraints and asset management objectives.
• Monitor and manage works orders, ensuring optimal budget utilisation.
• Ensure all work is carried out in adherence to relevant Health & Safety regulations.
• Assess and evaluate requests for surface treatments from service providers, local members, and the public.
• Support insurance claims and legal proceedings by gathering relevant data and providing court statements as required.
• Manage data using Pavement and Routine Maintenance Management Systems to pinpoint maintenance needs based on surveys and defect reports.
• Conduct on-site audits and inspections of contractor work, resolving queries and approving variations where necessary.

• HNC in Civil Engineering or other appropriate subject, or significant experience in Highway/Transportation Infrastructure.
• Ability to work on your own initiative with minimum supervision
• Streetworks and Health and Safety experience
• CSCS Card, NRSWA Supervisors Certificate and CITB site manager health and safety certificate.
• Substantial experience of highways maintenance and construction including previous supervisory experience.
• Experience of contract detail and specifications
• Good and proven level of IT skills
• Knowledge of measurement and valuation of highways works
