The Stationary Equipment Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining recycling equipment, compact heavy equipment, and light trucks to ensure safe and productive operations. Work includes routine maintenance of hydraulic systems, industrial electrical systems, 480V balers, conveyor systems, and compactors.
Key duties involve diagnosing mechanical issues, performing repairs and preventative maintenance, replacing parts such as pistons, gears, valves, bearings, conveyor belts, motors, and hydraulic cylinders, and reading vehicle condition reports to coordinate solutions with supervisors and operators. The technician also completes required paperwork, daily consumables reports, and may handle plumbing, electrical, and HVAC tasks while adhering to safety policies.
Preferred candidates have PLC troubleshooting skills, strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, prior manufacturing and conveyor experience, a valid driver’s license, and a mechanical or trade school certificate. Minimum qualifications include at least one year of related equipment maintenance experience or a trade school certification.
