You’ll be instrumental in establishing and growing the CLM capability in Queensland, with a focus on both technical delivery and business development. This position suits someone who is commercially astute, technically confident, and motivated by the opportunity to build and mentor a team in a growth phase.
- Provide guidance on waste classification and disposal
- Work on diverse and technically challenging projects across multiple sectors
- Lead and manage Preliminary and Detailed Site Investigations (PSI/DSI)
- Conduct soil, groundwater, and vapour assessments
- Develop Remediation Action Plans (RAPs) and Site Management Plans (SMPs)
- Mentor and develop junior consultants, fostering a culture of collaboration and quality
- Undertake human health and ecological risk assessments
- Shape the development of a new Contaminated Land team in Queensland
- Prepare and review technical reports aligned with NEPM and state regulatory frameworks
- Liaise with clients, regulators, auditors, and project stakeholders
- Contribute to business development, identifying opportunities and expanding client relationships

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Principal Consultant (Contaminated Land Management) to take a leading role in developing and delivering contaminated land projects across infrastructure, industrial, and resource sectors.
You are an experienced and driven environmental professional who enjoys balancing hands-on project delivery with leadership and business growth. You thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment and are looking for a role where your input genuinely shapes the direction of the business.
- A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel occasionally to regional or remote sites
- Solid knowledge of QLD EPA requirements and NEPM / ASC NEPM frameworks
- Excellent reporting, analytical, and client communication skills
- Experience mentoring or managing junior staff
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, Hydrogeology, or similar
- Proven experience leading complex CLM projects
- Professional accreditation (or working towards) such as CEnvP Site Contamination Specialist or CPEng
