The Highways Regional Director role reports to the Highways Scotland and England North District Lead and works closely with regional directors and the Infrastructure Team Lead to grow the highways pipeline and expand the delivery portfolio in Scotland and the north of England.

- Identify, position, plan and prioritize business development activities in Scotland and northern England.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities with key clients and pursuits.
- Monitor market trends and anticipate client needs to position AECOM as the preferred solution provider.
- Develop and nurture existing client relationships to become a trusted advisor.
- Drive team performance against growth targets such as Book to Burn, revenue pipeline and net service revenue.
- Lead major pursuit proposals with Transport Scotland, National Highways and construction partners.
- Leverage AECOM’s wider network and other business lines to enhance capabilities and win work.
- Set up newly‑won projects for successful delivery and support project teams.
- Achieve and exceed financial KPIs and business growth targets.
- Win new work and expand the client portfolio in the region.
- Manage client accounts, maximise existing contracts and generate new business.

The ideal candidate has a recognised market presence, extensive experience delivering major highways projects, and existing client relationships that can be leveraged to win new work and grow the team.
The role requires a proven track record of meeting or exceeding financial KPIs, winning new business, and maintaining strong client relationships with national infrastructure clients, local authorities and construction contractors.
- Hold membership of a recognised professional body (preferred).
- Hold a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (preferred).
