- Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
- Perform testing of asphalt materials for conformance to requirements.
- Report test results to management and recognize failing materials immediately.
- Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
- Develop a thorough understanding of various test procedures for asphalt.
- Provide understanding of TXDOT and local municipality specifications.

- Ability to obtain certification(s) within 6 months
- Ability to gain additional certifications to support project testing and inspection as needed
- Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
- Regular, reliable attendance
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Certifications issued from HMAC for Asphalt Level 1A and AGG101 are preferred. Training will be provided for the ideal candidate.
- Work productively and meet deadlines timely
- Ability to understand asphalt property relationships.
- Working knowledge of construction industry
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Capability to work construction hours during high seasons
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Experience in a fast-paced asphalt production laboratory preferred, but not required
- Capability to travel to support operations in West Texas as needed
- Ability to work as a team
- Self-starter with exceptional organization and interpersonal skills
- 2 years of experience working with 1A certification
