A global engineering & nuclear services firm delivering end‑to‑end infrastructure and energy solutions.
The role involves executing engineering work in accordance with AtkinsRéalis/Candu Energy QA programs, applicable codes, standards and regulations, while coordinating with clients, suppliers, stakeholders and other design disciplines. Under the supervision of a Professional Engineer, the engineer will engage in conceptual, preliminary and detailed design of CANDU or nuclear process systems, perform calculations and analyses using industry‑standard software, and model complex piping and support arrangements. Additional duties include preparing design change packages, technical documents, TSSA registration packages, conducting site visits and field walk‑downs, and supporting construction, commissioning and close‑out activities.
These positions are for self‑motivated individuals who can work independently or under the direction of a senior technical engineer, building a career in the nuclear field. The candidate will follow instructions from a qualified professional engineer, complete assigned mechanical scopes, and develop the required engineering design documentation.
Candidates must hold an accredited Mechanical Engineering degree and be registered as an Engineer‑In‑Training or be eligible for Professional Engineer registration in Ontario. At least five years of mechanical engineering experience in heavy‑industrial environments such as mining, oil & gas, power or nuclear is required, together with a solid understanding of mechanical and piping systems and relevant codes (CSA N285.0, CSA B51, CSA N289, ASME Section III, ANSI B31.1). Experience in nuclear‑class piping design, stress‑analysis software, and site construction or commissioning is preferred, along with strong technical writing, communication and teamwork abilities. Applicants must be willing to become a Nuclear Energy Worker.
