Key responsibilities include ensuring strict compliance with Mitchell‑Lama rules, overseeing income verification, wait‑list management, and annual income affidavits, and preparing required reports for state and city agencies such as HCR, HPD, and HUD. The AEGM also guarantees that the development remains audit‑ready for government and internal reviews, and manages the electronic submission process for annual affidavits.
The role involves training and coaching management staff, establishing performance standards, and collaborating regularly with department heads, building and townhouse associations to address community needs. Additional duties encompass supervising multiple departments, managing capital improvement projects and budgets, representing the Executive General Manager at governmental meetings, monitoring expenditures, handling resident complaints, enforcing house rules, and ensuring compliance with Fair Housing, Section 504, and ADA regulations.
The AEGM will assist in the preparation and monitoring of annual operating and capital budgets, oversee hiring, training, and performance evaluations for administrative staff, and attend court proceedings for lease violations or evictions when required. The position demands a focus on fiscal soundness, high resident satisfaction, and adherence to New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) and other applicable regulations.
