You will work within the Dog Control Act 1996 and Council policies to respond to public complaints about dog and stock control, handle customer requests such as aggressive or barking dogs, dog attacks, wandering dogs, and stock issues, and provide requirements for proactive patrolling and assistance with prosecutions. The role is based in Manukau, covers East Auckland, and operates on a variable 24/7 morning and evening roster with on‑call duties until 30 November 2026.
We are looking for a conscientious person with a public‑facing compliance background who can respond promptly to calls for assistance, deliver exceptional service, and manage conflict calmly, especially when dealing with aggressive animals. A current, full clean New Zealand driver’s licence is required.

The role is titled Animal Management Officer and offers a salary of $80,000 to $83,000 (depending on experience) plus shift and on‑call allowances, with an additional Kiwisaver contribution.
