Project Management Accountant

Description

In partnership with Project Management, the role manages JLG’s greatest resource—its people’s time—to give the firm a strategic advantage and create balanced growth opportunities for staff. The incumbent supports Project Managers by monitoring budgets, following processes, leveraging tools, and leading projects to meet financial targets.

• Assist Project Managers with project budget creation and continuous monitoring of actual progress against approved budgets and labor hours.
• Prepare various project operating reports using the firm’s project/accounting software.
• Support other JLG accounting staff to ensure timely and accurate project cost entry, especially consultant costs.
• Monitor client and consultant contracts to ensure they are complete and signed promptly, reducing risk to JLG.
• Aid accounting staff in the timely and accurate production of project management and firm financial reports.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
• Minimum two years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and/or project management.
• Deadline‑oriented with strong attention to detail and high accuracy.
• Ability to critically analyze data and circumstances.
• Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Project Management experience and interest.
