Pipe Fitter B

Description

• *Coordinates and performs work assigned.
• *Responsible for organizing and maintaining tools and equipment assigned in an orderly condition; maintaining truck stock in accordance with prescribed requirements.
• *Performs or assists as necessary in installing, changing, relocating and removing meters; installing, maintaining,repairing and removing piping, meter connections and service regulators.
• *Assists Serviceman on jobs requiring sori-skilled manual assistance, and performs other miscellaneous work as required.
• *Has full responsibility for performing work safely and in a satisfactory manner.
• *Installs, repairs and maintains gas, water, vent and other piping.

Requirements

• Understand and follow oral and written instructions and interpret drawings or prints.
• *Must be capable of working semi-independently within 12 months.
• Must pass the Bennett mechanical comprehension test.
• Must possess a strong mechanical aptitude, with basic skills and experience in cither Distribution or Fitting work
• Graduate of high school, trade school, or other formal technical training with experience in the plumbing / pipefitting or HVAC field
• Technical Skills
• Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively.
• Must have a MVD license and good driving record.
• Requires mandatory progression to the bottom of Pipe Fitter A classification within 18 months.
• Must be physically able to perform heavy lifting and manual labor duties as required.
• Be agile
• Requires successful completion of a written test and field observation audit.
