Masons must read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications, ensuring alignment, level, and plumb of masonry units. They collaborate with other construction professionals on-site to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety procedures and using appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Lay bricks, concrete blocks, stones, and other masonry materials to construct or repair walls, partitions, arches, and structures.
- Mix and apply mortar or grout to slabs or foundations.
- Cut and shape masonry units using hand and power tools to fit specified measurements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Ensure alignment, level, and plumb of units with levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
- Repair and maintain existing masonry, replacing damaged sections and repointing mortar joints.
- Clean surfaces and remove excess mortar or debris.
- Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals on‑site.

A Mason is responsible for building and repairing structures made of brick, block, stone, and other materials. This role requires precision, craftsmanship, and knowledge of construction techniques to ensure the structural integrity and aesthetic quality of masonry work.
The position typically requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent training, and proven experience in masonry or bricklaying. Certifications in masonry or construction safety, such as OSHA 10/30, are preferred.
The job involves regular standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds (occasionally 75 pounds), and working in indoor and outdoor environments that may be loud and expose workers to various weather conditions. Stonebrook Exterior is an equal opportunity and E‑Verify employer.
