Position Overview: The Geotechnical Department Manager will lead the geotechnical engineering division, overseeing technical operations, project delivery, and team development. This leadership role is responsible for driving departmental growth, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining strong client relationships across transportation, infrastructure, and commercial projects.

• Maintains and expands client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor on geotechnical solutions.
• Reviews and approves technical reports, proposals, and project deliverables.
• Manages and mentors a team of engineers and technical staff, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
• Monitors departmental budgets, resource allocation, and profitability.
• Oversees geotechnical investigations, analysis, and design for a variety of projects.
• Ensures compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and quality control procedures.
• Provides strategic leadership for the geotechnical department, including business development and operational oversight.

Requirements

• Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of geotechnical engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven ability to manage teams, budgets, and complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of TxDOT standards and geotechnical design principles.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and client management skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering (Master's preferred).
