NDT Technician I (Night Shift)

Description

The NDT Technician I is responsible for scanning processes within the Post Paint Department, performing non‑destructive inspections on blade bonding locations, trailing‑edge inserts, and leading‑edge areas.

The role involves following safety protocols, maintaining a clean work environment, operating material‑handling equipment, and collaborating with group leaders and production teams to prioritize tasks.

• Perform ultrasonic testing (UT) inspections on blade bonding locations, TE insert area, and leading‑edge bonding area.
• Conduct visual testing (VT) of interior LE and TE bondlines using a rover camera.
• Create non‑conformances in the quality database and follow Production Work Instructions.
• Inspect product quality, make corrections, and operate JLG and scissor lifts.
• Carry out daily equipment maintenance and 1st line repairs.
• Coordinate with group leaders and production staff to prioritize processing tasks.
• Train NDI trainees and other quality‑control inspectors.
• Maintain personal log of NDT experience hours.
• Stand, walk, kneel, and perform overhead work for up to 3 hours; lift up to 15 lb; use hand tools up to 15 lb.

Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma/GED, be proficient in English, and possess documented training and experience in ultrasonic testing meeting ASNT SNT‑TC‑1A standards; they must also pass a skills assessment.

• Meet vision requirements, including annual eye exams and color‑blindness standards.
• Hold documented UT training of at least 40 hours and 360 practice hours per ASNT SNT‑TC‑1A Level I; training provided.
• Pass General, Practical, and Specific examination assessments.
