Description

The Groundperson gathers and feeds brush and debris into a wood chipper, scans areas for trip and fall hazards, and ensures other workers stay clear of travel paths. The role also includes maintaining equipment and materials.

The role includes cutting vegetation, handling debris, and keeping equipment in proper working order.

• Operate chainsaw to cut brush, logs, and stumps of larger trees.
• Drag, gather, and feed brush into wood chipper.
• Service vehicles and equipment, keeping them neat, clean, and mechanically ordered.

Requirements

Applicants must be at least 18 years old. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, though this is an entry‑level position with no prior experience required; any previous experience is a plus. A driver’s license is preferred but not mandatory.

Physical demands range from frequent standing, walking and manual dexterity to occasional lifting (up to 50 lb) and climbing. Continuous tasks include gripping, seeing, and carrying.
