Journeyman Electrician

Description

• Report to customers’ homes and businesses on time, prepared with general knowledge of the work
• Educate customers on system use, maintenance tips, damage prevention, and offer professional suggestions for optimizing system function and additional services
• Install, troubleshoot, and repair/replace wiring, outlets, fixtures, panels, etc.
• Utilize various tools, including electrical hand‑tools, saws, drills, and circuit testing equipment
• Determine service requirements using technical skills, performance standards, and preventive‑maintenance experience
• Complete all work processes while maintaining safe working conditions and personal safety
• Supervise and mentor Apprentice Electricians as needed
• Document the outcome of every work order in detail

Requirements

This position is considered safety‑sensitive; successful completion of a pre‑employment drug screen and background check is required. Applicants must hold applicable state and local electrical licenses.

• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read and understand technical instructions
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of equipment, tools, and methods commonly used in electrical services
• Understanding of code requirements and safety practices for electrical work
• Accurate diagnostic ability
• Excellent ability to explain technical information to clients
• Computer proficiency for time‑keeping, billing, and credit‑card processing
• Applicable state and local electrical licenses
