Description

The Entry‑Level Process Engineer focuses on the design and engineering of manufacturing facilities and equipment, supporting facility infrastructure and critical utility systems. Typical tasks include executing engineering calculations such as heat transfer and pressure‑drop analyses. The role is responsible for documenting the process design scope in coordination with other disciplines, supporting field installation teams, and conducting construction site observations. Collaboration with architects, engineers, designers, and internal and external team members ensures a coordinated, constructible, and complete design.

• Manage multiple projects concurrently and use time effectively.
• Solve complex problems under mentor or supervisor guidance.
• Participate in all design phases from studies to construction administration.
• Support basic‑complexity tasks under direction of experienced Process Engineers.
• Produce Block and Process Flow Diagrams.
• Create User Requirements Specifications.
• Generate Equipment Lists and General Arrangements.
• Prepare Equipment Datasheets and Utility Summaries.
• Develop Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).

Requirements

• Self‑check work and communicate regularly with peers and supervisor.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Bioprocess Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
• 0–3 years of experience in a design firm or related engineering environment.
• Preferably registered for or having passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
• Willingness to relocate to MA, PA, OC, SD, or STL office locations.
• Fundamental experience with engineering calculations, discipline system designs, and basic process modeling.
• Knowledge of chemistry/biochemistry and material and energy balances.
• Understanding of fluid mechanics, hydraulic modeling, and heat transfer.
• Strong communication and cross‑disciplinary team coordination skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and engineering software for drafting and process modeling.
