Assist in reviewing and approving Contractor’s monthly progress payment request based on work completed and approved schedule of values.
Prepare comprehensive daily inspection reports that clearly and concisely documents observed construction activities and identifies issues, deficiencies, and safety concerns in a timely manner.
Collaborate professionally within a large team of Inspectors.
Ensure compliance with multi-phased, site-specific traffic control plans, with a strong emphasis on pedestrian safety and routing.
Conduct inspections for the installation of sanitary sewer systems and storm drains, including related structures, in accordance with City and County of Los Angeles Standards.
Perform inspection of major reinforced concrete structures including pile foundations, roadways, and bridges across multiple jurisdictions.
Perform inspections for the installation of street lighting and traffic signal systems, following the specifications set by the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Street Lighting and the Los Angeles Department of Transportation.
May be required to work various shifts including overtime, swing, nights, and weekend shifts as needed

Strong working knowledge of City of Los Angeles, County of Los Angeles and Cal-Trans Standards.
Current Cal-Trans test method certifications in 100, 200, 300, and 500 series desired.
Minimum 5 years of experience performing inspection of Cal-Trans bridge, roadway, and structure projects.
Apply extensive knowledge of City of Los Angeles Standard Plans/Specifications and the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction (Greenbook).
Apply knowledge of and enforce Cal-OSHA, Contractor’s and LAWA safety requirements.
30-hour Cal-OSHA training prior to assignment. The 30-hour training will have been received within the last 4 years.
Ability to work effectively and communicate in a team-oriented environment.
Working and operational knowledge of Project Management Information Systems (PMIS) used for inspection reporting and document control. Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, Adobe Pro, PM Web, Bluebeam, ProCore, etc..
Apply extensive knowledge of Cal-Trans construction Standard Plans and Specifications.
Computer Proficiency - Utilize electronic equipment to review project plans and contract documents including RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
High school diploma (or equivalent).
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Current City of Los Angeles Deputy Inspector Licenses; Grading, Concrete, Post Tension desired.
Proven expertise in the installation and inspection of sewer and storm drain systems, utility infrastructure, and traffic control measures.
Minimum 5 years of experience (10 years preferred) in public works field inspection, with a focus on heavy civil and roadway construction.
Successfully hired Candidates must provide proof of Cal-OSHA 30-hour training within the last four years prior to official start.
