What you would be doing

Monitor structures for differential vertical shortening between building core and outer envelope.
Provide and maintain Horizontal Control on all floors of a project for use by all contractors and the department, throughout all stages of construction.
Ensure survey equipment and supplies are checked and orders placed as necessary.
Monitor existing adjacent structures for deflection/deformation associated with construction works.
Monitor basement slab and/or ground floor slab for deflection and settlement.
Learn from mistakes and listen to constructive feedback to improve performance
Oversee calibration of survey equipment and maintain calibration registers.
Check computations and compile jobs prior to approval and issue.
Take responsibility for my own performance and look for ways to improve
Carry out as-built checks throughout shell and core construction and as required during fit-out phase.
Prioritise safety and actively support community, wellbeing and sustainability programmes
Provide Acad/drawing services to project team to aid project coordination and interface.
Encourage inclusive networks and treat others with respect and fairness
Discharge responsibilities for Health and Safety as set out in the Canary Wharf Group Health Safety and Welfare manual also the Canary Wharf Group Construction Health and Safety Plan both in respect of the package and integration of the overall project.
Provide and maintain Vertical Control on all floors of a project for use by all contractors and the department, throughout all stages of construction.
To liaise with and maintain a good working relationship with other members of staff and external parties.
Provide training and advice to the Assistant Engineering Surveyors.
Use knowledge to work effectively with suppliers / contractors to meet shared goals
Register and manage all incoming survey requests.
Proactively suggest ways to improve our business and encourage others to share ideas
Provide topographical surveys for use by Development Team, Designers and Architects to interface existing features with projects.
Resolve issues by providing high quality solutions
Maintain the global CWCL survey control network across all projects.

Have good communication skills and be able to communicate and influence behaviours at all levels.
Be willing to undertake training and a personal development program.
The candidate must be competent in ACAD and be proficient with surveying equipment and associated software. A knowledge of N4CE, Star*Net and Revit would be advantageous.
Be able to train others where knowledge and skills allow.
Be competent in assessing and commenting on the adequacy of Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
Possess a practical, proactive, and problem-solving approach to surveying in difficult conditions, and under tight time frames.
Must be a team player and be able to work well with the assigned project team, trade contractors and members of the survey department.
Can demonstrate proven Engineering experience, gained from working on major construction projects as an Engineering Surveyor in a position of responsibility.
Be in possession of a relevant formal qualification e.g. Bachelor of Surveying or Engineering degree, HND (as a minimum).
Be computer literate and have good administration skills.
Have the ability to develop and implement surveying related systems and procedures where required.
Confident in making decisions appropriate to the role
Be a member of a Professional Surveying Institution or be actively working towards membership. e.g. CICES, RICS.
The candidate must have 2/3 years’ experience within the survey, engineering and construction industry. Preferably with Laser Scanning knowledge and capabilities, both with fieldwork data collection and the processing of scanned data.
