- Own schemes from initial enquiry through to detailed design, estimating, and release for construction.
- Provide technical advice and support to internal teams and external stakeholder regarding project designs and site-specific requirements.
- Ensure smooth transition from design to contraction by working closely with contraction partners to identify and resolve buildability issues.
- Maintain the Water Network Design SharePoint site and track progress and actions using JIRA.
- Lead the design of clean water infrastructure projects across the region, including internal diversions, PMV/meter installations, MMIs, pumping stations, mains renewals, air valve replacements, and reservoirs.
- Fulfil designer responsibilities under CDM Regulations 2015, ensuring Health & Safety is embedded in all stages of the design.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills-with the ability to work confidently with internal customers and construction partners at all levels.
- Full UK driving license-travel to regional sites and meetings will be required.
- Fully competent in CAD software-you must be able to independently produce high-quality CAD drawings to support each scheme.
- Strong working knowledge of the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM)-including the ability to produce Pre-Construction information (PCI) documentation.
- HNC (or equivalent) in Civil or Technical Engineering-or significant relevant experience in a design-focused role within the water industry.
- Extensive clean water design experience-you must be a fully fledged designer, confident in leading the design of complex clean water network projects.
