Identify defects in design and being able to communicate findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders
Undertake structural risk assessments of new and existing buildings
Undertake detailed desk top studies, detailed design reviews of structural design information carried out by 3rd parties
Prepare assessment, inspection and investigations reports
Work within agreed project time frame and budget and manage commercial performance of projects
Attend site to undertake site inspections and investigations to suit project requirements
To liaise with clients, manage projects from inception to completion, including invoicing
Provide advisory support and carry out site visits during construction stage and building investigations
Maintain and manage strong client relationships and identify business development opportunities
Support management of junior team of engineers and carry out reviews
Manage projects from inception to completion and be responsible for the associated invoicing
Be aware of the financial performance of the business unit and take responsibility for meeting targets
Have a clear understanding of structural engineering issues, (including interfaces with fire and façade), and provide well supported engineering solutions through the selection of appropriate methods and tools

At least seven years’ experience in engineering
An accredited honours degree or equivalent in civil/structural engineering
Numerate, and organised with attention to detail
Self-motivated, able to prioritise and work on own initiative, as well as following instructions and working as part of a team
Excellent computer skills, particularly with regards to Microsoft Word / Outlook, Bluebeam and commonly used industry structural analysis and design software packages (Tekla Tedds, Robot, Scia Engineer etc)
Reliable, punctual, honest and trustworthy
Confident communicator, good customer service skills
Flexible and adaptable to meet customer needs and changing priorities
Professional appearance and behaviour
