The O&M Engineer reports to the Operations or Maintenance Manager and is responsible for the ongoing operation and maintenance of district heating and cooling plants, ensuring compliance with all safety requirements while efficiently running boilers, chillers, and auxiliary equipment.
Key duties include reviewing the main, standby, remote plants and distribution system, placing primary and auxiliary equipment in service with emergency safeguards, performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and completing all required logs, records, and paperwork.
The role also requires maintaining workstations in good order and performing additional tasks such as facility cleaning and customer meter reading as assigned by plant management.
Candidates must have at least two years of experience with steam and chilled water equipment, turbines, and pumps, a high school diploma or equivalent, and must obtain a Minnesota First Class “A” Operating Engineer’s License within two years; they must be able to work rotating shifts, lift up to 50 lb, and operate in adverse climate conditions.
