Perform balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies as required
Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial data
Help to develop and implement best practice processes to ensure the integrity of the general ledger
Responsibility for the quality and integrity of monthly accounting entries to the ledger, including sourcing and documenting supporting information from stakeholders
Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations to ensure compliance
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information for reporting and analysis
Controlling the Fixed Asset Register, including transactional entries and regular reconciliation
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the R2R function
Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and internal policies and be able to demonstrate this with evidence (Eg Internal or External audit)
Complete the monthly, half-yearly and annual close processes for the Pennon Group companies, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements
