Join the Healthy Waters & Flood Resilience (HW&FR) department as an Intermediate Healthy Waters Specialist (Special Projects) to deliver industry‑leading three waters solutions across Tāmaki Makaurau. As part of the Commercial & Property team you will balance programme delivery, property access processes, and customer and systems work. You will collaborate with developers, infrastructure providers, and internal partners while championing health, safety, risk management and contributing to te ao Māori and Māori outcomes.
You are a proactive problem‑solver who thrives on variety and challenge, energized by complex projects and shifting priorities. Your curiosity, creativity and drive enable you to build strong relationships and work comfortably both collaboratively and independently. You adapt quickly, seek smarter ways to deliver results and are unafraid to champion new ideas, with a customer‑focused passion for positive community and environmental impact.
We are looking for a candidate with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, law, commerce, property or equivalent, plus five years of practical experience in a similar environment. Three‑plus years of experience in the three waters sector is highly desirable, as is experience in local government or public infrastructure. Proven project and contract management skills, public and stakeholder engagement experience, strong analytical ability and proficiency with Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Power Automate, Word, Excel, Outlook) are required.
At Auckland Council you will join a dynamic, supportive environment where your work directly impacts the lives of over 1.7 million Aucklanders. We provide flexible working conditions, a focus on wellbeing and a culture of continuous improvement. Our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion is recognised through GenderTick accreditation and Pride Pledge signatory status, fostering a workplace where staff feel valued and empowered.
The role offers a salary range of $77,000 – $90,000 and a closing application date of Tuesday 27 January at 11.59 pm. Auckland Council is an equal‑opportunity employer and encourages applicants with support or access requirements to request assistance during the recruitment process.
