The specialist will design and execute sourcing strategies that align with business objectives and sustainability goals, seeking cost reductions, risk mitigation, and process improvements. Market research and supplier assessments will be performed to qualify vendors that meet quality and sustainability standards, while supplier performance will be monitored to build long‑term partnerships.
Key duties include leading negotiations to secure favorable pricing, quality, delivery and contract terms, drafting and managing contracts, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies and legal requirements. The role works closely with engineering, production, sales and tendering teams to address procurement needs and provides guidance on supplier selection and best practices.
Risk management is a core responsibility; the specialist will identify and mitigate supply‑chain risks such as geopolitical, regulatory and quality issues, and uphold ethical and regulatory standards in all sourcing activities. Adherence to Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity, along with taking personal responsibility for actions, is expected.
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in business, supply‑chain management, engineering or a related field; an MBA or procurement certification is a plus. Ten years of supply‑chain experience, including at least five years in strategic sourcing within the energy or engineering sector, strong negotiation and communication skills, and proficiency with procurement tools and Microsoft Office are required.
