Trainee NDT Technician

Description

Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) and examination activities using required techniques, in compliance with company and client procedures and acceptance criteria, to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency.

• Ensure secure handling of information and compliance with information security procedures
• Carry out daily inspections using welding and NDT methods, keeping Site Manager/General Manager informed of job progress and status.
• Report any vulnerabilities, threats, or breaches according to company procedures
• Produce inspection reports in line with company quality procedures, submitting to clients on time and in accordance with Applus+ NDT Reporting Procedures
• Comply with the Letter of Authorisation, performing only authorized activities for Applus UK Ltd
• Ensure all equipment and consumables are calibrated and in proper working condition before use
• Participate in company and client HSEQ initiatives
• Maintain a safe and clean office and site environment
• Stay current with company, client, and legislative requirements affecting conventional and advanced NDT techniques.
• Highlight new working practices that may benefit the company
• Always use appropriate PPE
• Promote and maintain high standards of Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ)
• Maintain accurate timesheets, inspection records, and all necessary documentation
• Build positive relationships with clients and supplier
• Provide management with copies of new certifications as obtained
• Take ownership of assigned activities to ensure safe, effective, and timely project completion within budget
• Support training and development of less experienced team members
• Conduct NDT inspections under the supervision of a PCN/ASNT Level 2 technician

Requirements

Competencies / Behavioural Skills

• Strong teamwork and collaboration
• Complete company-assigned training on information security and data confidentiality
• You will be working towards PCN Level 1 in one or more disciplines.
• Familiarity with services offered by Applus UK
• Knowledge of or exposure to NDT techniques
• Willingness to learn and work towards PCN Level 1 in one or more NDT disciplines
• Effective planning and organisation
• Understand and adhere to the Inspector Declaration form, maintaining independence, impartiality, and integrity
