Description

As a Structural/Bridge Engineer you will be involved in every stage of a project, from inception through to completion. You will work within a locally based technical team, preparing and checking designs, calculations, drawings and documentation that meet quality, cost and programme criteria, while supporting health‑and‑safety and sustainability practices and liaising with clients and suppliers.

• Produce technically sound engineering solutions within a collaborative team.
• Prepare and review designs, calculations, drawings and documentation to meet quality, cost and programme goals.
• Own the technical delivery of projects from inception through to completion.
• Support, mentor and develop junior engineers.
• Contribute to bid preparation and work‑winning initiatives.
• Champion health and safety practices in line with Amey’s Integrated Management System.
• Integrate sustainability considerations into engineering designs.
• Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers and stakeholders, attending progress meetings and addressing queries.
• Manage multi‑discipline infrastructure projects and coordinate interface deliverables.
• Utilize structural analysis software such as LUSAS and Autodesk Structural Bridge Design.
• Apply CDM regulations, risk assessments and hazard management on projects.
• Apply knowledge of Eurocodes, DMRB and best‑practice guidelines (e.g., CIRIA) to designs.

Requirements

• Hold a relevant BSc or MSc degree and progress toward Incorporated or Chartered status with ICE/IStructE.
• Demonstrate commercial awareness and innovative problem‑solving.
