  • Implement automated processes to analyze data generated by test systems to identify anomalies, or predict upcoming failures
  • Participate in new product design reviews to ensure Design for Testability (DFT)
  • Drive systematic troubleshooting, assist with root cause analysis, and champion long term improvement of our test equipment
  • Utilize processes like FMEA to identify gaps in manufacturing and then design new processes to cover those gaps
  • Continuously improve uptime, cycle time, and yield of test equipment to enable production capacity ramps
  • Collaborate with global Generac teams of design, manufacturing, compliance, etc. as needed to optimize complex design and validation
  • Assemble, deploy, and improve manufacturing ATE test stations to support manufacturing of Generac CES Products at our contract manufacturer facility in Richardson, TX
  • Retrofit and upgrade test equipment when product changes are introduced
  • Formally document test procedures, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guides, and gauge repeatability & reproducibility reports.

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work on multiple projects simultaneously and make sound priority decisions
  • Experience with programming in Go
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or computer science
  • Experience with new product introductions and technical/process transfer to new suppliers
  • 3-5 years related experience in the Engineering function within a similar working environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or industrial technology
  • Proficiency in Linux
  • Experience with software development tools; including development environments, revision control systems, and issue trackers
  • Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools; including R, JMP, or Sympy
  • Experience with a variety of test types including PCBA, end-of-line, firmware programming, and Burn-In
  • Experience with software debugging tools; including debuggers, logs, stack-traces, and test-panels
  • Hands on experience running tests on complex electronic components and/or systems; including the use of oscilloscopes, power supplies, and other various electronic test equipment/meter
  • Strong understanding of the operating principles of embedded devices and power electronics, especially those using components such as microcontrollers, power supplies, and ADCs
  • Experience with data analysis tools; including Python, pandas, and matplotlib
  • Experience developing component and/or system level test plans, test procedures, and test reports
  • Deep familiarity and experience with high-volume manufacturing of electronics products, including mixed surface mount/through-hole PCBs and electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Experience with data analysis and insight communication of complex technical topics
  • Experience with CAN communication, Ethernet, RS232, RS485, and other communication networks
