The Fabrication Supervisor leads welding operations in a manufacturing environment, ensuring high productivity, quality control, and adherence to safety protocols while aligning workflow with production schedules.
Key duties include planning work schedules based on engineering drawings, assigning tasks and resources to welders, monitoring production progress, conducting quality inspections, enforcing OSHA safety standards, overseeing equipment use, investigating incidents, and reporting status to upper management.
The supervisor also trains new welders, provides ongoing coaching to improve skills and productivity, leads and motivates the welding team, handles performance evaluations and conflict resolution, and manages costs to optimize resource use and reduce waste.
Candidates must have at least five years of welding experience, including two to three years in a supervisory role, deep knowledge of TIG, MIG, SMAW, and GTAW methods, and the ability to read blueprints and specifications, with familiarity in CNC operations and Lean manufacturing. A high school diploma is required, while AWS certification or a related degree is advantageous.
