The Technical Specialist – Machining supports the machining domain in the qualification, industrialization, and sustainment of CNC machining and EDM processes for gas turbine component repair. The role provides hands‑on technical support, troubleshooting, and develops technician capabilities while driving operational excellence. The specialist collaborates with machining engineers, operations, quality, and external suppliers to maintain stable, compliant, and efficient processes that meet SQDC objectives.
- Qualify and industrialize CNC machining and EDM processes.
- Support co‑qualification activities such as FPQ and PLQ readiness.
- Troubleshoot shop‑floor machining issues and implement root‑cause corrective actions.
- Train technicians and develop skill sets for machining equipment.
- Ensure compliance with EHS, Life Saving Rules, and quality standards.
- Maintain work instructions, setup sheets, and process documentation.
- Coordinate with other departments and suppliers to resolve technical or operational challenges.
- Contribute to cycle‑time, cost, productivity, and delivery improvement projects.
- Participate in continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support machining operations.
