The Staff Accountant role joins CMTA’s accounting team in a fast‑paced, engaging, and innovative environment. This position ensures the accuracy and integrity of accounting systems by analyzing customer contracts, creating invoices, credits, revenue arrangements, and journal entries. The accountant works closely with engineers to enter and maintain documentation related to revenue recognition.
The accountant prepares month‑end revenue close reports, supports both month‑end and year‑end close processes, and produces monthly project, collection, billing, contract, and work‑in‑process reports. They create journal entries with proper documentation, fully leverage the ERP system to meet financial objectives, and reconcile general‑ledger and bank accounts each month. Additional duties include managing lease and fleet programs, participating in audits and internal‑control initiatives, and completing ad‑hoc projects.
Candidates should have at least one year of general accounting experience, ideally with a Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting. A data‑driven mindset, strong analytical and research skills, and advanced Excel proficiency are essential. Excellent written and verbal communication, customer‑service orientation, and the ability to learn ERP and proprietary systems are required. The ideal applicant is detail‑focused, meets deadlines, and thrives in a team environment handling multiple issues simultaneously.
Legence provides reasonable accommodations for applicants who need assistance during the hiring process. Candidates must have current U.S. work authorization, as visa sponsorship is not available. The company is an equal‑opportunity employer committed to fair employment practices regardless of protected characteristics.
The benefits package includes a 401(k) plan with a dollar‑for‑dollar match up to 4 % of eligible pay and immediate vesting. Employees receive employer‑provided medical, dental, vision, prescription drug, employee assistance, and accident & illness coverage, as well as basic life and AD&D insurance with optional voluntary buy‑up. The company offers flexible, non‑accrual vacation time, paid holidays, and reimbursement for business travel expenses.
