The Survey Contractor Lead will manage and coordinate survey contractors across the alliance’s projects, ensuring comprehensive surveying services from early planning through design to completion. This role involves interpreting project documentation, monitoring compliance with specifications, optimizing resource utilisation, and collaborating with engineers and supervisors to provide adequate survey support.
- Manage and coordinate survey contractors for land surface surveys and investigations.
- Oversee structures, plans, specifications, standards, and project accountabilities.
- Apply modern survey techniques and equipment cost-effectively.
- Interpret project documentation and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Lead, monitor, and allocate multiple survey contractors simultaneously.
- Liaise with engineers and supervisors to plan sufficient survey support.
- Optimize utilization of survey resources across projects.
- Monitor progress and quality of contractor work.
- Advise the land surveying team on tasks and operations.
- Support engineers in forecasting survey costs.
- Contribute input during project development phases.
- Ensure timely capture and submission of as‑built and cadastral documentation.
- Maintain compliance with legal and legislative surveying requirements.

The ideal candidate holds a relevant tertiary qualification (or Certificate II, III or IV in Business Administration) and has Tier 1 office experience together with several years of land, construction or geodetic surveying experience. Proficiency with surveying software (such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, Leica, Trimble), modern instruments, and knowledge of local land regulations and legislative requirements is essential.

- Skilled in using total stations, GPS, laser scanners and digital levels.
- Familiarity with local land regulations, zoning laws and geospatial data management.
- Strong mathematical and analytical abilities for survey data interpretation.
