The role safeguards the integrity and durability of project assets by verifying that all materials and equipment comply with approved specifications, standards, and inspection requirements. It ensures that pipelines, reservoirs, pumping stations and related infrastructure are built with certified, traceable, and tested materials, oversees laboratory and site testing, and maintains accurate documentation for client hand‑over. Early identification of non‑conformances, recommendation of corrective actions, and promotion of continuous improvement are also key functions.
Core responsibilities include reviewing and approving material submittals, supervising laboratory and field testing, maintaining material approval logs and test reports, and conducting supplier audits and factory inspections. The engineer works closely with construction teams to ensure proper storage, handling, and installation, performs spot inspections and random sampling, and provides technical guidance to site engineers. Coordination with project directors, QA/QC managers, HSE managers, client representatives and third‑party certification bodies is required to align quality processes with project execution.
The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Materials, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, with a Master’s in Construction Materials, Quality Management or Engineering Management preferred. Mandatory or strongly preferred certifications include ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, welding inspection (CSWIP or AWS‑CWI), and coatings certification (NACE or SSPC). Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers and familiarity with Saudi, NWC/EXPRO and GCC quality regulations are required.
At least 15 years of relevant experience are required, together with strong communication, critical thinking, initiative, leadership, project management, teamwork and MS Office skills. Physical fitness and the ability to work under pressure are also expected.
