Identify critical issues and develop risk exposure summary with associated cost impacts
Provide creative and innovative thinking to analyze and develop strategy and value engineering solutions.
Perform and review quantity takeoff comparisons to provide evaluation for accuracy and acceptance
Present complete and accurate estimates to ensure confidence in decision making.
Work with scheduling staff and Operations to develop accurate and precise bid schedules
Review opportunity pursuits and develop preliminary budget estimate and itemized summary for go/no-go evaluation.
Occasional travel to job sites for project assessments

A remote/hybrid arrangement is available with the right experience preferably with Indiana or Illino is DOT experience. Depending on residing location, travel may be increased.
Highly knowledgeable in earthwork, underground drainage, sewer, watermain and general roadway construction. IDOT and/or INDOT experience is preferred

This position is ideally based in one of our local offices: Rockford IL, Indianapolis IN or Springfield, IL.
Company representation at pre-bids and site visits
Effective communication and interaction with clients, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers

Precise attention to details and exceptionally organized
Highly motivated self-starter
Site visits may require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and exposure to outdoor conditions
Proficient in Bid2Win or similar estimating software and exceptional Microsoft Office skills; Primavera P6, Bluebeam and AutoCad experience is a plus
Limited travel will be required for pre-bids, site walks, owner meetings, home office, etc.

Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy civil estimating
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Construction Management and related field experience
Extensive experience with earthwork and underground is required, PCC paving and concrete knowledge is a plus
