Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction. Measures workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation. Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from workpiece.
Pulls scheduled materials from warehouse storage as required for production operations and shipping.
Package materials for shipping.
Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces, as required.
Positions workpiece against stops or aligns layout marks with die or blade. Sets, stops, or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule or template. Pushes button or depresses pedal to activate machine.
Palletize materials for production and for expeditor pick up.
Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition.
Represent the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.”
Operates Fabrication Shop machinery and equipment that cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures.
Follows prescribed safety standards and regulations.
Obtain and maintain an active status within the drug testing program.
Load/unload truck and deliver materials to production areas.
Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.

Must be able to read and interpret drawings, use simple math, and use basic handheld measuring tools.
Working knowledge of basic hand tools.
Moderate computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and database applications.
Must possess a valid commercial driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
Must possess a valid safety training card.
Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
Must complete the Matrix Service Basic Safety training and Process Safety Management training.
Ability to operate tools and equipment applicable to position.
Certification and ability to operate Forklift.
Ability to interact and communicate well with others in a fast-paced environment.
Prior related experience and/or training in a fabrication or machine shop environment.
Strong organizational skills.
