- Ensure that all testing equipment is functioning properly
- Work performed in confined areas
- Climb ladders, kneel, crawl, or work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Test loose mix to confirm plant calibration, analyzing mix temperature, asphalt cement content, mix moisture content, gradation, density of lab compacted mix and volumetric properties
- Working and communicating in close relationship with both construction inspectors and construction managers to ensure that all tasks are done correctly and as required
- Collect and/or prepare aggregates and asphalt samples for analysis
- Perform field and laboratory tests at various points throughout civil construction projects, and report test data in a complete and timely manner
- Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, responsible for the testing of road construction materials
- Conduct, document and file plant calibrations
- Using nuclear gauge or coring, conduct density testing of road surfaces
- Work extended hours on foot, including on uneven or rough surfaces.
- Complete daily records of paving limits, placing temps, rolling temps, rolling patterns, tonnages, weather and other influences

- Must have an ACI certification
- Strong problem solving, organizational, and time management
- Excessive humidity, rain, etc.
- Must have knowledge in concrete slip paving.
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (assistance recommended for heavier loads).
- Construction Experience is a must
