The Survey Party Chief leads field survey operations for complex construction, boundary, topographic, and control survey projects. This role supervises survey crews, coordinates with project teams, and ensures accurate, compliant, and timely delivery of survey data.
Candidates must have 10+ years of survey experience, an associate degree in Surveying or Engineering, or 15 years of construction staking experience. They need strong knowledge of land surveying principles, methods, regulations, and standards, and proficiency with GPS systems, AutoCAD, survey data processing, and GIS coordination. Advanced mathematical and trigonometric calculation ability, plan reading, and proven leadership, organization, and communication skills are required. Ability to manage deadlines, competing priorities, and diverse stakeholders, as well as a customer‑service orientation, is essential.
The role requires the ability to regularly talk, hear, operate a computer, keyboard, and mouse, and occasionally lift, pull/push, and carry up to 20 pounds with accommodations. Work conditions include exposure to low‑to‑moderate office noise, a high‑stress, fast‑paced, deadline‑oriented environment, and travel to other BKF locations and client sites.
The typical base salary range is $52.58‑$63.09 hourly (annualized), depending on skills, experience, education, and location, and is paid biweekly. All benefits are administered through the Local 3 Union and Trust.
