Manage all Area accounting databases to ensure timely upkeep, security and control.
Administer and assure timely and accurate completion of monthly progress billings, receivables, subcontractor payments, bank deposits, and processing of trade payables.
Perform general ledger control accounts verification, identifying additions or deletions to accounts in general ledger to improve control.
Assist internal costing dept. by coordinating search for records preparation of account reconciliations and controlling account confirmation activity.
Provide assistance to Operations and Project Managers in job budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of the financial performance of projects. Participate in the development and maintenance of monitoring and reporting procedures.
Act as the subject matter expert in AS400 and EllisDon accounting systems providing required support and assistance to Area staff.
Manage and coordinate proper functioning of the accounting, computer and area systems including providing administrative and technical support to personnel.
Work with Joint Venture Partners on Financial oversight and forecasting.
Prepare annual reports, review, forecast and flag anomalies for Executives of the area. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets for the Area. Review Area’s monthly financial report. Flag, investigate, resolve any anomalies or escalate as required.

Extensive knowledge of all relevant provincial and local requirements including bonding, Insurance and Lien laws.

Computer literacy with experience in Microsoft Office products and AS400 is essential, with computer technical knowledge an asset.
Have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field and CGA Designation.

Minimum of 10- 15 years of accounting experience within a construction environment.
Have the ability to build harmonious working relationships with clients, co-workers and the general public.
