Painter/Blaster

Description

• Read blueprints, sketches, or building plans.
• Assist other crafts when not actively painting.
• Meet all physical requirements and follow safety rules.
• Determine scope of work, material locations, quantities, and sizes from specifications.
• Identify and gather all tools needed for tasks.
• Assess safety risks and implement precautions.
• Measure, mark, and cut wood or metal to specifications.
• Mix paint and coatings and sandblast structures as required.
• Apply proper painting techniques and stroke types for each coating and surface.
• Work safely at heights, ladders, and scaffolds.
• Perform housekeeping and clean work areas.
• Determine appropriate techniques, mixtures, and number of coats for materials.
• Work full schedule and overtime as needed.
• Follow all company, site, and safety regulations.

Requirements

The Industrial Journeyman Painter/Blaster is responsible for painting equipment and structures for protection and cosmetic purposes, ensuring compliance with contract specifications. The role requires expertise in spray painting, sandblasting, and fire‑proof application, as well as thorough knowledge of paint mixing and coating materials.

The position demands the ability to read blueprints and plans, identify required tools and safety risks, work safely at heights, and maintain clean work areas. Applicants must have at least four years of industrial painting experience, reliable transportation, and the necessary tools, while adhering to all safety, company, and site regulations.
