The Business Analyst role works directly with clients and project managers on strategic advisory and asset‑management planning projects. Responsibilities include compiling documentation, building data sets, performing analysis, and evaluating service levels for utilities, transportation, environmental agencies, or facilities management. Candidates should understand state and local government operations and have exposure to utility service delivery, engineering, construction, permitting, asset inventory, capital planning, and finance. Experience with data analysis, management, and API‑based system integrations is also desirable.
We value strong written and verbal communication, planning, organization, and analytical problem‑solving abilities. Technical and business writing, graphics, and presentations are essential, as is the capacity to develop deep knowledge of customers, data, and markets. Preference is given to candidates with utilities, facilities, transportation, or government market experience and familiarity with CMMS/EAM solutions such as Cityworks, VUEWorks, Maximo, Lucity, or Cartegraph.
A bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Computer Science, MIS, or a related field is required, with a master’s preferred; relevant experience may substitute for education. Minimum qualifications include five years as a Business Analyst and eight years in business advisory, data & analytics, solutions or software engineering, or IT infrastructure. Certifications such as IIBA CBAP or PMI Professional in Business Analytics are strongly preferred. Employment is contingent on pre‑employment drug screening, background check, and possibly motor‑vehicle verification.
