Development and implementation of innovative packaging solutions according to technical and commercial best practice, following global and local business and procurement strategies with focus on total cost of ownership (TCO) and standardization approach. Enrolling and standardization of packaging used by newly integrated sites.
Ensuring and continuously improving the application of optimal industrial packaging material under technical, legal (e.g. dangerous goods regulations), economic, ecological, sustainability and marketing aspects. Develop sourcing strategies in cooperation with commercial sourcing manager.
Responsible for specification management of all NA packaging designs. Also responsible for quality management measures including supplier audits, quality spot checks, lab tests, etc.
Position owner is central technical business partner for all seven BEs and act as procurement packaging Key Account for all North American stakeholders.
Consultancy to internal and external customers on optimized packaging materials as well as to internal & external logistic service providers regarding filling, handling, storage, discharge and load securing of complete packaging portfolio and Covestro product range.
Approval, evaluation and development of packaging materials and new suppliers for NA. Responsible for award decisions regarding technical & quality issues.

Bachelor's degree in Packaging, Polymer, Industrial, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with 6+ years of experience in the area of packaging/supply chain, logistics or production in the Chemical Industry
Good commercial understanding of procurement processes.
Knowledge in materials and packaging technology preferred
Experience in machinery and process of packaging and filling operations
Excellent communication and negotiation skills across disciplines and functions
Good knowledge of IT systems (Microsoft Office, SAP ERP systems, Business Warehouse, database)
Basic knowledge of regulations regarding transport of dangerous goods
Team player with ability to lead cross-functional project teams.
