The incumbent is responsible for financial activities such as preparing, monitoring, and forecasting departmental capital budgets as well as handling monthly and year‑end accruals, while frequently interacting with multiple levels of the organization.
Key duties include preparing and monitoring capital budgets, tracking and forecasting expenditures to avoid overruns, producing monthly variance reports, and serving as an internal consultant on budget matters. The role also involves reviewing departmental expenditures, recommending cost‑reductions, compiling bills for third‑party customers, and preparing statistical data for FERC and other agencies. Additionally, the analyst identifies budget issues, implements process improvements, provides accurate accounting for accruals, and attends budget meetings throughout the service territory.
Employees are expected to promote a safe work environment, report unsafe conditions, and support a culture of safety that protects coworkers.
Required qualifications are a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, or Accounting, at least three years of budget development experience, and three to six years in finance, accounting, or regulatory roles. Candidates must understand state and federal regulatory requirements, possess strong planning, organization, and communication skills, and have working knowledge of GAAP and capital budgeting systems. Proficiency in Lotus Notes, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PC skills such as CBS and MAPPS is essential, along with the ability to perform under normal, emergency, and contingency situations.
Preferred qualifications include experience with SAP Ariba and Power BI. The position requires U.S. work authorization without sponsorship, and employees may need to work outside normal hours to support emergency operations.
The salary range for this role is $82,200 to $123,200, determined by factors such as skills, experience, and internal equity, with the posting period running from January 19, 2026, to February 2, 2026.
