Machine Operator - 2nd Shift - SA Gilbert

Description

The operator fabricates parts according to schematics under supervision, reads blueprints, and programs machining equipment. Duties include using metal‑working machinery such as brake, shear, saw, and punch, inspecting and maintaining equipment, and reporting malfunctions. The employee assists the team lead and tradespeople, keeps the department clean, and follows all safety standards.

• Operate Safan and Accupress CNC brake press machines.
• Fabricate metal parts according to schematics while supervised.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
• Program machining equipment to produce required components.
• Use metal‑working machinery (brake, shear, saw, punch) safely.
• Inspect, maintain, and report equipment malfunctions (TPM).
• Assist team lead, supervisors, and tradespeople with project tasks.
• Keep work area organized and clean at the end of each shift.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions; follow safety program standards.
• Apply effective communication, time‑management, and quality‑focused work habits.
• Meet physical demands: lift heavy objects, stand/walk for long periods, perform occasional strenuous labor.

Requirements

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, strong verbal and listening communication skills, time‑management ability, and a critical eye for defects. Physical requirements involve lifting heavy objects, standing for long periods, and occasional strenuous labor. Additional training or apprenticeship in metal‑working is preferred.

• Hold a high school diploma (or equivalent) and at least three years CNC brake press experience; apprenticeship preferred.

Benefits

Starting pay is $21 per hour plus DOE. The role operates Safan and Accupress machines. Candidates must have a minimum of three years experience as a CNC Brake Press Operator.
